Descendants
Polish, Kashubian and Lower Sorbian seemingly derive the verb from a form *čytati, as a regular sound change for the phoneme i before č (cf. *čìstъ -> Polish czysty, Kashubian czësti (where ë is from Proto-Slavic *y))
