Spring is the season after winter and before summer. It is often associated with growing plants and warmer temperatures. Spring officially begins on the vernal equinox and ends on the summer solstice. The time of year of spring is exactly opposite for the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.

Northern Hemisphere

March, April, and May are generally considered the months of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. However, it officially begins on the vernal equinox (mid March) and ends on the summer solstice (mid June).

Southern Hemisphere

September, October, and November are generally considered the months of spring in the Southern Hemisphere. However, it officially begins on the vernal equinox (mid September) and ends on the summer solstice (mid December).
