Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish یارغو‎ (yarğı), from Proto-Turkic *yạr- (“to judge, order; call, announcement”).[1] Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (yarɣu), Kazakh жарғы (jarğy), etc.
