From Proto-Albanian *sjāutā, from Proto-Indo-European *sau̯i̯eto, with a metathesis. Cognate to Welsh hwyad, Old Cornish hoet (“id”), Breton houat (“id”).[1]. Alternatively, derived from the Proto-Celtic word[2]
