From Proto-Albanian *sjāutā, from Proto-Indo-European *sau̯i̯eto, with a metathesis. Cognate to Welsh hwyad, Old Cornish hoet (id), Breton houat (id).[1]. Alternatively, derived from the Proto-Celtic word[2]
