Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *gungā, from Proto-Indo-European *geng-, *gong- (lump). Identical with Lithuanian gùnga (hump, hunchback, ball, clump), gùnginti (go slowly, from a humped going person), and cognate with Latin gingiva (gum).[1]
