Unadapted borrowing from Indonesian peranakan, from Javanese pranakan (ꦥꦿꦤꦏꦤ꧀, mixed descent (esp. with Chinese and Dutch)), from Sanskrit kaṇaka (कणक, drops (of semen)). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
