-mány

  1. (noun-forming suffix) Added to a verb to form a noun indicating the result of the action.
    tanul (to study) + -mánytanulmány (study, essay)

Usage notes

  • (noun-forming suffix) Variants:
    Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value) is added to back-vowel words
    -mény is added to front-vowel words
    -omány same as -mány with a linking vowel
    -emény same as -mény with a linking vowel
  • Note: Although the following words end in -mány, they are not derivations: ármány, dolmány, furmány, kormány, ocsmány, sármány, zsákmány.
