Etymology
/misodi/ → /misozi/. Shift from earlier みそち (misochi),[1] which is from Old Japanese, a compound of 三十 (miso, “thirty”) + ち (chi, a suffix derived from つ (tsu), an Old Japanese counter). The -chi changes to -ji as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
