Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Aryan *bʰáHmas, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰáHmas, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰóh₂-mos, from *bʰeh₂- (“to glow, shine”). Related to भास् (bhā́s) and भान (bhā́na).
