The form from Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value), from Middle Persian [script needed] (dhywkʾn' /dahigān/, “countryman, farmer”), also found as دهگان (dehgân) and دهخان (dehxân), originally meaning “pertaining to the ده (deh, “village”)”, from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (MTA /deh/, “country, land; village”). Akin to Old Armenian դեհկան-ութիւն (dehkan-utʿiwn), Classical Syriac ܕܗܩܢܐ (dahqānā).
