Etymology

From Proto-Turkic *buŕagu; cognate with Azerbaijani buzov, Karakhanid بُزاغُو (buzāɣū), Uyghur موزاي (mozay), Uzbek buzoq, Bashkir быҙау (bıðav), Kazakh бұзау (būzau), Kyrgyz музоо (muzoo) and Hungarian borjú.
