From пали́ти (palíti, “to burn”) +‎ -е- (-e-) +‎ -ница (-nica).[1][2] Cognate with dialectal and archaic Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value), пеляни́ца (peljaníca), пелени́ца (peleníca).[3]
