Etymology

From огуро́къ (ohurók, “cucumber”) +‎ -ець (-ecʹ). Compare Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value), whence modern Russian огуре́ц (oguréc).
