аҙаҡ

Bashkir

Etymology

From Proto-Turkic *adak (leg); however, not a regular Kypchak development thereof (which is аяҡ (ayaq)), but apparently a (now extinct) collateral branch with a peculiar semantic shift. Alternatively, from a Mongolic source, from Proto-Mongolic *adag (end).

Compare to Uyghur ئاداق (adaq, end), Uzbek oyoq (end, edge), Kazakh аяқ (aäq, end).
