The Joy of Cooking
The Joy of Cooking is a classic American cookbook by Irma S. Rombauer, a homemaker in Missouri struggling with the suicide of her husband. The cookbook was privately printed in 1931 by Rombauer. The first commercial edition was published by the Bobbs-Merrill Company in 1936. Eighteen million copies have been sold.
