Pindar

Pindar was a lyric poet of Ancient Greece. He was born about 518 BC in Boeotia, and died in Argos, age 80, about 438 BC. He is famous for his choral odes celebrating the victories won in the Pythian, Olympic, Isthmian, and Nemean games.
