Penicillin

Penicillin is an Antibiotic discovered by the Scottish chemist Alexander Fleming (1881-1955). Penicillin revolutionised medicine as it was the first antibiotic ever discovered, meaning that people with a bacterial infection could now be treated, in some cases preventing death.
