is a major river of North America in United States of America. It is nicknamed Old Man River.
It rises in Minnesota near the Canadian border and flows south to a delta on the Gulf of Mexico. It is 5,970 km (3,710 miles) long (with the Missouri River), its chief tributary.
Its major tributaries are the Missouri River, the Ohio River and the Arkansas River.
