Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17/MAS17) was a flight that crashed on July 17, 2014 on its way from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The plane went down in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew died. It was believed to be shot down by a surface-to-air missile fired by pro-Russian separatists.
