Johannes Brahms (7 May 1833, Hamburg – 3 April 1897, Vienna) was a German composer and pianist.
His works include several symphonies and concertos, songs and piano pieces, chamber music, the Academic Festival Overture and the Tragic Overture. His works for voice include the large choral work A German Requiem. His "Lullaby" and "Hungarian Dance No. 5" are known to almost everyone familiar with Western music.
